Demetrius A. Floudas is an AI Lawyer & Governance Strategist, practicing advocate, and academic. Within the AI: Futures and Responsibility Programme, his work focuses on the international legal regulation of risks from advanced intelligence and the geopolitical implications arising from Frontier AI. He also convenes a Task Group dedicated to advising parliamentarians on the feasibility and modalities of controlling AI catastrophic hazards.

Demetrius is a Visiting Scholar at the Leverhulme Centre for the Future of Intelligence, University of Cambridge, and a member of the AI@Cam Unit.. In addition, he is a Fellow of the Hellenic Institute of International and Foreign Law; Affiliate Professor at IKBFU (where he lectures on ‘AI Regulation’); AI Expert at the European Institute of Public Administration; and peer- reviewer for several legal & AI policy journals. He possesses decades of experience consulting governments on policy creation, has contributed to several International Law Treaties & Agreements and has participated in the drafting/review process of over 30 pieces of transnational legislation.
